The movie is a tribute to India’s most celebrated captain MS Dhoni. It is a story of a man who made it from a small town to the top of Indian cricket.
The film is directed by Neeraj Pandey, who has done a fine job with Baby and Baby 2. It stars Sushant Singh Rajput in the lead role of Dhoni.
What makes this a great film is the way it captures the real Dhoni’s journey. It shows how he started off as a ticket collector and how he eventually became a legend in his field.
It also showcases the romantic side of the cricketer – his first girlfriend Priyanka Jha, who died in an accident and how he met his wife Sakshi.

Airlift (2016)
Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur star in Airlift, which is based on the biggest civil evacuation of Indians stranded in Kuwait during Iraq’s invasion. It’s a tale of heroes who rise up against the odds and become a family.
Adapted by Raja Krishna Menon, this drama is a tribute to a real-life rescue operation that took place in 1990. It tells the story of Ranjit Katyal (Akshay Kumar), a Kuwaiti businessman who takes on the responsibility of getting 170,000 Indians back home.
Though he starts off as a self-centered rich businessman, he soon becomes a dedicated patriot for his countrymen. He puts his money and time into ensuring that all Indians are safely evacuated.
It’s a powerful performance, and Akshay does a fantastic job of playing an ordinary man who turns out to be a hero.

Shivaay (2016)
Shivaay combines a good story with a great performance by Ajay Devgn. The cinematography is also good and the VFX look pretty cool. The action sequences are amazing and the music is great.
Ajay Devgn plays Shivaay, a mountaineer who rescues a woman in an avalanche and eventually becomes pregnant. The woman, Olga (Erika Kaar), does not want the child, but Shivaay is determined to take it.
The film starts off well, but the climax is a little slack. There are a few awkward scenes, with Shivaay talking in a strange accent and referring to his friend Kancha in bizarre dialogues.

Tiger Zinda Hai (2017)
The sequel to 2012 blockbuster Ek Tha Tiger, Ali Abbas Zafar’s action thriller follows India’s RAW agent Tiger (Salman Khan) and Pakistani spy Zoya (Katrina Kaif) as they embark on a mission to rescue Indian nurses kidnapped by a terrorist organization. Based on true events, the film has all the ingredients for a box office hit.
Though the story itself is a bit over-long, it manages to entertain its audience with some well-thought-out action sequences. Katrina Kaif proves to be a compelling action heroine in her own right, and Sajjad Delafroz’s American-educated terrorist is a good villain.
In his latest movie, director Ali Abbas Zafar marries Khan’s stardom with a story that feels genuinely moving.

Raees (2017)
Shah Rukh Khan is in the spotlight again with Raees, a film that proves he can play a gangster who has a heart. It’s a rare departure from the hyper-romantic Rahul that he played in his early films.
The film is inspired by the true story of gangster Abdul Latif, who operated in Gujarat during the 1980s and ’90s. It’s a fascinating tale of the police-politician-underworld nexus that allowed him to rise and this movie does scrape the surface of it, though it fails to take it forward.
Shah Rukh is also good as Battery, a hoodlum who’s street-smart enough to break into the illegal liquor trade but gets caught by Superintendent of Police Jaideep Ambalal Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). He’s able to work on his political network and social skills to stay out of trouble, but is it enough?

Kaabil (2017)
One of those films is Kaabil, a thriller that stars Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam. The film was directed by Sanjay Gupta and released on January 26, 2017.
This is a crime thriller that revolves around the story of two blind people. They get married but it isn’t long before Supriya is sexually assaulted by the local corporator’s brother.
The couple decides to take revenge on the guys who abused them. This is where Hrithik’s character comes in.
While his pulsating forehead vein and trembling cheeks are perversely effective as the sightless dubbing artist who takes up a kill-crazy rampage, the movie’s rape-and-retribution template isn’t that original. But it’s still an entertaining watch, especially if you’re into Hrithik Roshan.

Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017)
Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a fun and entertaining Bollywood movie that will leave you with smiles on your face. This 139-minute film is set in Jhansi and features Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt as its lead.

Sanju (2018)
Sanju, a biographical film about the life of actor Sanjay Dutt directed by Rajkumar Hirani, is set to hit the screens on 29th June 2018. This makes it one of the most anticipated films in recent times and it will certainly grab the attention of the audiences.
The movie follows the journey of Sanjay Dutt and his drug addiction, his relationship with his father Sunil Dutt (Paresh Rawal), his comeback in the industry and the eventual drop of charges from bombay blasts. It also explores the role of media in painting him as a terrorist.
Ranbir Kapoor is in top form and he effortlessly slips into different roles. Vicky Kaushal also impresses as Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi. Manisha Koirala is also impressive as Nargis Dutt.

Padmaavat (2018)
Padmaavat is the latest film from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which explores well-known epic love stories. The director has previously explored the tales of Devdas (in 2002) and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (in 2013).
A tyrannical Sultan Alauddin Khilji hears about Queen Padmavati’s beauty and sets an invasion on her kingdom to enslave her, but her husband Maharawal Ratan Singh assembles his forces to protect her. It is in this tense, savage battle that the film unfolds, a story of regressive patriarchal mores couched in opulent grandeur, resplendent frames and some of the best acting ever seen on screen.
The most notable thing about the movie is the striking performance of Deepika Padukone, who plays the role of Padmavati, a Rajput queen. She is not the damsel in distress, but a warrior queen who knows her place and steps up when the time calls for it.

Pad Man (2018)
Pad Man – which tells the story of a man who invented low-cost sanitary pads and employed millions of Indian women – is a timely film. Several million more Indian women now use these products thanks to Muruganantham’s invention, and it has made him one of India’s most famous social entrepreneurs.
The first half of the film is quite effective – a good story, a decent cast (Kumar stands out in his best role yet), and a few snatches of comedy to keep things ticking along. The script, co-written by Balki and Swanand Kirkire, is clean and efficient.
In the end, however, it’s Kumar’s toothy grin and determined earnestness that propels this story. Radhika Apte as his simple, shy wife is wonderful, too, as she struggles to find the right balance between supporting her husband and following the diktat of samaj.

Kabir Singh (2019)
Shahid Kapoor has always been a master at playing flawed characters in his films, and Kabir Singh is no exception. His performance here is undoubtedly his best yet.
As a medical student in Delhi, Kabir Singh has severe anger issues and abuses people for their attention and affection. He even gets into a brawl with his college dean because of Preeti, whom he woos with his macho charm and aggressive sex.
The film, based on a Telugu hit, follows a twisted plot in which a brilliant medical student goes into a downward spiral after his sexless wife gets married. But, in the process, it promotes toxic masculinity and gender-based violence.

Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Uri: The Surgical Strike is a well-made war drama that is visually spectacular, but lacks the emotional punch of great war movies. It’s a shame because the film should have been much better, considering its basis on India’s surgical strikes in response to a terrorist attack in Uri in September 2016, that killed 19 Indian soldiers.
The film has some good moments, including the long-range shots of the valley and stretches of Baramulla that are beautifully shot. It also has some fine performances by Vicky and Yami Gautam as she carries multiple roles and performs each of them impressively.

Gully Boy (2019)
Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy is a potent class commentary about the power of dreams and resilience. It’s a movie that breaks you apart, but then pulls you together and makes you cheer for the characters to win.
The film stars Ranveer Singh as Murad Ahmed, a rap artist whose life is torn between his family, his studies, and his dream. He lives in the slums of Asia’s largest city, Dharavi.
He is also a man who has a strong emotional drive, and who uses his privilege only when he feels the need to. His heroine Safeena Firdaus (Alia Bhatt) is a determined woman who balances her loyalty and her possession with her desire to be a surgeon.

Tanhaji (2020)
With a strong cast including Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a visual spectacle. It has elaborate sets, larger-than-life characters, quality special effects, and edge-of-the-seat war scenes.
The film is based on the life of 17th-century Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare, who led an army that captured the Kondhana fort from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s troops. It was the first successful military coup in India and is a great inspiration for all Indians today.
Ajay Devgn is in his element as he plays Tanhaji with a straight face and intense expressions. He is complimented by Kajol who plays his wife Savitribai with equal strength.
