As the film progresses, we see Samar (Ranbir Kapoor), an outsider averse to politics, being sucked into the ruthless family war. Ajay Devgan’s Sooraj is also co-opted into the family’s machinations and becomes a formidable antihero as the blood rages in the battle. Katrina Kaif and Naseeruddin Shah round out the cast of characters.
As the story progresses, violence, extortion, intimidation, and murder become more and more a part of the political arena. This is especially true of the ruthless and self-serving Bhanupratap (Khan Jehangir Khan) who heads the Pratap clan and its rival party.
The film’s climax is especially memorable. The ensuing bloodbath is a perfect representation of the dark side of democracy.

The director Milan Luthria delivers a stylish and spirited evocation of the bygone era. His cast deserves brownie points for delivering performances of the highest order.
Ajay Devgn is superb as Sultan Mirza, a glorified Robin Hood-like figure who rises to infamy and usurps the man Friday of the city. Shoaib Khan (Emraan Hashmi) who joined the gang as a slum kid and grew up to be a gangster-cum-don is also a fine actor.
Director: Milan Luthria
Actors: Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, Prachi Desai, Randeep Hooda
Box office income:₹96.44 crore
I Hate Luv Storys(2010)
‘I Hate Luv Stories’ is a romantic comedy that turns the accepted tenets of romance on its head. It is a parody of the industry that seems obsessed with love stories and tries to subvert the clichés of Bollywood romance films.
The film revolves around Jay (Imran Khan) who hates lovey-dovey stories and Simran (Sonam Kapoor) who dreams only of the ultimate romance. They meet on the set of a Bollywood film and get into a romantic struggle.
‘I Hate Luv Storys’ is a well-made, albeit cliched, rom-com. Its youthful, eye-candy star cast and hummable music add to its appeal. Its plot is a little cumbersome, but it hardly ruins the enjoyment. It’s a definite winner for the city & multiplex audiences and will have good box-office collections.

He enlists the help of his girlfriend Ayesha (Lara Dutta), Vardhan (Boman Irani), Jabbar (Nawab Shah), and Sameer Ali (Kunal Kapoor) to complete the task.
Don 2 has all the ingredients of a great action film, but it doesn’t quite work. There is plenty of swaggers and a good deal of violence, but the characters don’t feel fully fleshed out or developed. There are few laughs or light moments, and there’s nothing much that doesn’t relate back to Don.

Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012)
As the story unfolds, it’s easy to see why Yash Chopra is remembered as a pioneer of romance. The director’s knack for directing pretty people in a dream world is unmatched, and he shows it once again with this film.
There’s no shortage of melodrama in this film, but Yash Chopra never makes it look over the top or too silly. It’s all backed up by the performances of Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
While she’s not the strongest actor in the cast, Anushka Sharma is most effective when she’s shrill and over the top in her happy-go-lucky Delhi girl character. She’s also a great performer in a rousing modern dance number that’s set in an underground London pub.
Director: Yash Chopra
Actors: Shah Rukh Khan,Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma
Box office income:₹235 crore
Amitabh Bachchan’s national award-winning performance in Mukul Anand’s 1990 Agneepath was a dark, brute tale of revenge. The film remained a cult classic and was ahead of its time.
The re-make, directed by Karan Malhotra (Kader Khan’s assistant) does a decent job of recreating the earlier film, but it does not compare with it. The story of a man who grows up with a bitter hatred for the murderer of his father is retained and re-played here.
Hrithik Roshan plays Vijay without the glitz that Amitabh Bachchan brought to the role, presenting him as a ruthless machine for revenge with layers of hurt and pain that keep you awake at night. His ferocious, burning rage makes you root for him as he fights back, but he appears colourless in comparison to the original man.
Director: Karan Malhotra
Actors:Hrithik Roshan,Sanjay Dutt,Rishi Kapoor,Priyanka Chopra
Box office income :₹190.26 crore

The movie has some excellent chemistry between Deepika and SRK. They complement each other very well, despite their age gap of 20 years.
But the plot is a little thin and the film could have had better writing. The script is written primarily in Hindi, and the Tamil dialogues are too stilted.

Race 2 (2013)

It features some heists, roulette and raging cars (all digitized in stunning detail), as well as a cast that salivates on style. But a riveting plot is what sets this film apart from others.
Taking place in Turkey, the movie stars Saif Ali Khan as Ranveer Singh who gets entangled in the world of the Turkish mafia. His trusted partner RD (Anil Kapoor) also plays an important role in the film.
The movie is a visual treat with superb lense work by Ravi Yadav, a peppy background score by Salim-Sulaiman and some good editing by Hussain Burmawala. But the music by Pritam Chakraborty is a letdown.

Despite the fact that it is a romantic drama, Raanjhanaa also explores some important political issues in India like corruption and oppression of the poor. It’s an interesting story that blends romance and politics, but unfortunately, it loses its grip in the second half of the film.

Jai Ho (2014)
Salman Khan plays Jai in the film. He is a righteous samaritan who does his part in helping the needy, dishing out punishments and occasionally killing baddies who break his goodness code. He also takes exception to a goon who lays eyes on his family.
Sohail Khan, who directed the film, is a good director and he handles the story well. He also manages to put together a good supporting cast, including Tabu and Daisy Shah.
The action is very well done and Salman’s performance is good too, even when he’s bloodied, bruised and beaten black and blue. The climax in which he tears off his shirt to show off a gleaming, magnificent torso may be painful for some viewers.
Director: Sohail Khan
Actors: Salman Khan,Tabu, Daisy Shah, Danny Denzongpa,Aditya Pancholi

He puts his love for Rasika (Kareena Kapoor) on the back burner and devotes himself entirely to her rescue. He doesn’t care about anything else, unless it serves his mission.

Ranveer Singh is a force to be reckoned with as Bajirao, a man of exceptional brawn, grit, and character. His Marathi diction, his impeccable body language and his performance-wise delivery are exemplary.
Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali
Actors: Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra

Ajay Devgn plays Shivaay, a mountaineer who rescues a woman in an avalanche and eventually becomes pregnant. The woman, Olga (Erika Kaar), does not want the child, but Shivaay is determined to take it.
The film starts off well, but the climax is a little slack. There are a few awkward scenes, with Shivaay talking in a strange accent and referring to his friend Kancha in bizarre dialogues.

Shah Rukh Khan is in the spotlight again with Raees, a film that proves he can play a gangster who has a heart. It’s a rare departure from the hyper-romantic Rahul that he played in his early films.
The film is inspired by the true story of gangster Abdul Latif, who operated in Gujarat during the 1980s and ’90s. It’s a fascinating tale of the police-politician-underworld nexus that allowed him to rise and this movie does scrape the surface of it, though it fails to take it forward.
Shah Rukh is also good as Battery, a hoodlum who’s street-smart enough to break into the illegal liquor trade but gets caught by Superintendent of Police Jaideep Ambalal Majmudar (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). He’s able to work on his political network and social skills to stay out of trouble, but is it enough?

The couple decides to take revenge on the guys who abused them. This is where Hrithik’s character comes in.
While his pulsating forehead vein and trembling cheeks are perversely effective as the sightless dubbing artist who takes up a kill-crazy rampage, the movie’s rape-and-retribution template isn’t that original. But it’s still an entertaining watch, especially if you’re into Hrithik Roshan.
Director: Sanjay Gupta
Actors:Hrithik Roshan,Yami Gautam,Ronit Roy,Rohit Roy
Box office income:₹208.14 crore

Padmaavat is the latest film from Sanjay Leela Bhansali, which explores well-known epic love stories. The director has previously explored the tales of Devdas (in 2002) and Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela (in 2013).
A tyrannical Sultan Alauddin Khilji hears about Queen Padmavati’s beauty and sets an invasion on her kingdom to enslave her, but her husband Maharawal Ratan Singh assembles his forces to protect her. It is in this tense, savage battle that the film unfolds, a story of regressive patriarchal mores couched in opulent grandeur, resplendent frames and some of the best acting ever seen on screen.
The most notable thing about the movie is the striking performance of Deepika Padukone, who plays the role of Padmavati, a Rajput queen. She is not the damsel in distress, but a warrior queen who knows her place and steps up when the time calls for it.
Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Genre: Historical drama

Pad Man (2018)
Pad Man – which tells the story of a man who invented low-cost sanitary pads and employed millions of Indian women – is a timely film. Several million more Indian women now use these products thanks to Muruganantham’s invention, and it has made him one of India’s most famous social entrepreneurs.
The first half of the film is quite effective – a good story, a decent cast (Kumar stands out in his best role yet), and a few snatches of comedy to keep things ticking along. The script, co-written by Balki and Swanand Kirkire, is clean and efficient.
In the end, however, it’s Kumar’s toothy grin and determined earnestness that propels this story. Radhika Apte as his simple, shy wife is wonderful, too, as she struggles to find the right balance between supporting her husband and following the diktat of samaj.
Director: R. Balki
Actors:Akshay Kumar,Radhika Apte
Box office income:₹212.02 crore
Kabir Singh (2019)
Shahid Kapoor has always been a master at playing flawed characters in his films, and Kabir Singh is no exception. His performance here is undoubtedly his best yet.
As a medical student in Delhi, Kabir Singh has severe anger issues and abuses people for their attention and affection. He even gets into a brawl with his college dean because of Preeti, whom he woos with his macho charm and aggressive sex.
The film, based on a Telugu hit, follows a twisted plot in which a brilliant medical student goes into a downward spiral after his sexless wife gets married. But, in the process, it promotes toxic masculinity and gender-based violence.
Director: Sandeep Reddy Vanga
Actors:Shahid Kapoor,Kiara Advani
Box office income:₹379.02 crore
Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
Uri: The Surgical Strike is a well-made war drama that is visually spectacular, but lacks the emotional punch of great war movies. It’s a shame because the film should have been much better, considering its basis on India’s surgical strikes in response to a terrorist attack in Uri in September 2016, that killed 19 Indian soldiers.
The film has some good moments, including the long-range shots of the valley and stretches of Baramulla that are beautifully shot. It also has some fine performances by Vicky and Yami Gautam as she carries multiple roles and performs each of them impressively.
Director: Aditya Dhar
Actors:Vicky Kaushal,Yami Gautam,Mohit Raina,Kirti Kulhari,Paresh Rawal
Box office income:₹342.06 crore
Gully Boy (2019)

The film stars Ranveer Singh as Murad Ahmed, a rap artist whose life is torn between his family, his studies, and his dream. He lives in the slums of Asia’s largest city, Dharavi.
He is also a man who has a strong emotional drive, and who uses his privilege only when he feels the need to. His heroine Safeena Firdaus (Alia Bhatt) is a determined woman who balances her loyalty and her possession with her desire to be a surgeon.
Director: Zoya Akhtar
Actors: Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Siddhant Chaturvedi
Genre: Musical film

With a strong cast including Ajay Devgn, Kajol, and Saif Ali Khan, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is a visual spectacle. It has elaborate sets, larger-than-life characters, quality special effects, and edge-of-the-seat war scenes.
The film is based on the life of 17th-century Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare, who led an army that captured the Kondhana fort from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s troops. It was the first successful military coup in India and is a great inspiration for all Indians today.
Ajay Devgn is in his element as he plays Tanhaji with a straight face and intense expressions. He is complimented by Kajol who plays his wife Savitribai with equal strength.
Director: Om Raut

Genre: Historical drama
