GPSC Selection Process
The Gujarat Public Service Commission issues a wide range of state government job notifications. Interested and eligible postulants can apply online for these job vacancies. The official notification includes eligibility norms, exam dates, and other information.
We will look at the GPSC Selection Process:
GPSC Preliminary Exam is a competitive examination conducted by Gujarat Public Service Commission for various posts such as Deputy Collector, Dy. SP, Taluka Development Officer, Police Inspector, Chief Officer, Nayab Mamlatdar and Dy. Section Officer etc.
GPSC Class 1-2 is held in three stages – Prelims, Mains and Interview (Viva Voce). The candidate has to clear all these phases to get selected for the post.
The GPSC Class 1-2 preliminary exam is an objective type MCQ examination with two question papers of 200 marks each and 0.33% negative marking for wrong answer. Both the question paper are set in English and Gujarati languages.
Candidates are advised to prepare for GPSC Class 1-2 prelims in accordance with the syllabus. It includes topics such as Geography, History, Polity, Science and Technology, Maha Gujarat Andolan, Women in India and many more subjects.
The GPSC Class 1-2 Mains exam is descriptive in nature and consists of six question papers. Each paper has 150 marks and the total mark for all six papers is 900. Moreover, there is a Personality Test out of 100 marks, which brings the final total to 1000 marks.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria to qualify for GPSC recruitments. The GPSC eligibility requirements include academic qualification, age limit, and other qualifications.
Candidates must possess a degree from any university or equivalent. Moreover, candidates must have a minimum of experience in the field of their chosen career.
A candidate must be a citizen of India. He or she must be in the age group of 20-35 years. The maximum age limit is subject to relaxation for SC/ ST/ OBC and physically disabled candidates.
